Dorothy McKeighan

FAIRMONT – Private family services will be held in Wilbert, Minn., by Rev. Reimers. Burial will take place at Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Dorothy (Flohr) McKeighan, the daughter of Adolph J. and Lily (Fritz) Flohr was born April 25, 1921, on a farm south of Fairmont, Minn. Dorothy passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minn., at the age of 91.

She was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert, Minn. Dorothy received her education in the Fairmont Schools.

In 1939, she went to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she married Merlyn McKeighan on Sept. 15, 1940. After living in Louisville, Ky., where her husband was stationed, they moved to Billings, Mont., where they lived until retiring to Boise, Idaho. Following her husband’s death in 1990, she moved to Mesa, Ariz., and in 2005, moved to Armstrong.

Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her siblings, Alma (Tom) Morgan of California, Hedy Newlin of Armstrong, Iowa, Jan (Seif) Meyer of California, Jean (Bo) Keck of Montana, and Robert (Donna) Flohr of Montana; and also by several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents; husband; brother, James; and sisters, Berniece and Ruth.
